Birther Report site failures drag on into 4th week

On May 3, reports Dr. Conspiracy on his leftist propaganda site Obama Conspiracy Theories, somebody screwed up the DNS records for Birther Report, and now its users have a 20% chance of being unable to reach the site for extended periods of time. He noted that the site may have been failing earlier; May 3 is just the last update to the DNS records.

Dr. Con (as the denizens of Birther Report call him) provided a detailed analysis of the problem and how to fix it over a week ago, and other commenters at BR have pointed out the problem too. Nevertheless, inexplicably, even though Dr. Conspiracy went even so far as to post the information on BR itself, the site remains in its half broken state.

Dr. Conspiracy, known for excessive bragging over his intelligence and technical superiority, has been rubbing salt in BR’s wounds by a series of pedantic, know-it-all comments on the BR site, which have been met with righteous profanity. His mocking remarks citing examples where birthers had attributed the failure to all manner of nonsense, not the least of which included blocking of the site by Obots and Google censorship, were not well received.

Some obots have speculated that the faulty DNS record points to the server in Bob Nelson’s trunk that BR commenters donated money to pay for, so that BR could be free from the threat of Google stopping them from serving malware. Over 2 years have passed and that server was never deployed. Of course deploying the new server would require someone know something about DNS records, which seems to be beyond the technical capacity of the present BR management.

Further speculation says that BR owner Bob Nelson has been incapacitated and is unable to repair the site, noting that he has made no comments on the site since late April, when he made the enigmatic post:
Because it has been under constant attack for over a month now.
The crisis is ongoing.

i got a chuckle from this article. Is that a real quote from Nelson? The link doesn't go to a specific comment for me.

Yes, the quote is real. The Intense Debate commenting system creates URL's for comments--you can read them on the commenter's Intense Debate profile.ID folds (hides) multi-level comments when the number gets large and once that happens, the comment hyperlinks won't work.

For some reason, the Intense Debate profile for this particular comment has a comment URL that omits the page where the comment appears, so for this comment, the best I could do was to use the page URL. If you expand all the comments on that page, however, you will find the comment as shown above.
OK, I see it now. It's uncanny how consistently Birthers assume that problems with their web sites are the result of "hacking" or attacks. Sharon Rondeau and Orly Taitz come to mind. In this case even though you explained in detail exactly what the problem is and gave him the solution he doesn't buy it.

(Edit: Of course as I think you have said before if Birthers were logical they wouldn't be Birthers.)
Bob Nelson? That might explain a few things, eh?
I only edited the hosts file on one of my computers to add BR. It works every time. On another one that I didn't fix I can never open it. I've tried flushing the DNS cache and even then it doesn't load. Obviously the admin at Birther Report either doesn't care or doesn't know how to fix the problem. (Even though you told him exactly what was wrong.

There still seem to be a lot of comments on the few articles that are posted at BR. I wonder if a lot of those are from people using the Intense Debate email to reply?

Yeah, the host file change I shared on my blog takes care of the problem, but editing your hosts file is not for everyone. People at BR seem to be more into pictures than text, so I left them a picture showing what's wrong with the BR DNS.

Certainly I use email to post at BR because of the awful Intense Debate plug-in they use; however, you still have to post an original message in order to get emails to reply to.
I decided to add BR to the hosts file on the other computer and the fix worked there too. I doubt if any of the crowd of usual  commenters at BR can figure out how to do it since Windows goes out of its way to make it difficult to edit system files. You have certainly explained what Bob Nelson should do to fix his blog but either he is out of pocket or doesn't care. I would think he would want to do it for no other reason than to keep his ad revenue going.
So here is where all of you, human codes been hiding.. Found you, the lost and found group, of the code given to mankin, that groups us, ties us, binds us, together, in one kettle black..I got my eyes on you coders, and i know, i know, the beginning is worse then the end for some.. let me go finish my pot, of eyeball soup. I am so psycopathetic about things, especially eyeballs...YUM YUM.. THE WITCHES BREW...churns the pot of eyes, i see...

Glad to see some, pick it up, when others knock them down..
Birther Report as of today, November 6, 2016 STILL hasn't fixed its DNS, but that hardly matters. They haven't added an article since September 16.

It's dead, Jim.
The BirtherReport.com and ObamaReleaseYourRecords.com domains have expired, along with the Cold Case Posse site mscoccp.org.
